If you're new to the Missouri and Current River area, you'll definitely want to camp here. Or put in the river to float. Access is easy. The camping spots are well-marked and clean. The bathrooms and showers are fantastic.
Beautiful campground in a gorgeous area. Clean/updated bathrooms/showers - probably the best campground bathrooms I've encountered. We came here in October, and there was only one other couple camping here, so it was very quiet. The springs were incredible to see. The cave was closed by this time of year. I am from Iowa, and I had no idea southern MO had so much beauty.
This is a very nice and well-kept campground with clean, warm showers and roomy spots.
My only niggle is the dearth of electric spots. I use a CPAP and had to do without; my poor tent-mates didn't get the restful sleep they needed.
Also, I wish it was just a tad closer to Eminence so don’t plan on quick trips into town if you need something l. All-in-all though, you can't go wrong at this campground.
Been visiting the spring for a couple of decades now. Always as beautiful as the first time I've seen it. However, PLEASE make sure to keep your litter away from the water and grass/ wooded areas. Also please do not enter the spring or disturb surrounding vegetation. I did see a frisbee in the water of the spillway of the spring and I wanted so bad to remove it so everyone can enjoy the pure beauty of what it is. Hopefully park staff can remove the eye sore.
Connects to the current river trail (cross the pedestrian bridge to get to trails) you can walk or bike up to Echo Bluff State Park 4 .6 miles by trail. The campground has a portage along the river at the end of the campground. Gravel road through the camping area.
The bathrooms & showers were clean, great water pressure & warm. Definitely would come back!!
Very nice flushing bathrooms. I was at camp ground 6. Close to the bathrooms and a boat ramp area that was great for our group to play in the river in. It was well maintained with good fire pit, BBQ area, lantern hanger and picnic tables. Would stay here again. The staff at the office were very kind and helpful too.
If you like to be in the outdoors in a beautiful environment...this is the place to go.
